For Foreign Nationals Residing in Thailand (Employed with Work Permit)
- Application Forms & Fees
✅ Completed New Zealand Visitor Visa Application Form (online via Immigration New Zealand website).
✅ Visa Application Fee + VAC service charge payment receipt.
✅ Biometrics appointment confirmation (if required).
- Passport & Identification
✅ Original passport (valid for at least 6 months beyond intended departure from New Zealand).
✅ Photocopy of passport bio-data page and all pages with visas/stamps.
✅ Previous passports (to show travel history).
✅ 2 recent passport-sized photographs (white background, 35×45 mm, taken within 6 months).
- Thai Immigration & Legal Status
✅ Thai visa / Non-B visa / Extension of stay stamp (valid until after the trip).
✅ Thai Work Permit (photocopy all pages including the validity page).
✅ Thai ID of Thai spouse (front and back copy).
✅ Marriage Certificate (Thai and English translation certified by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs).
✅ Child’s Birth Certificate (showing both parents names; translated to English and certified).
✅ Residence Certificate or Rental Contract showing current address in Thailand.
- Employment & Income Proof
✅ Letter of Employment (on company letterhead) confirming:
Job title, start date, salary, contract type, and approved leave dates.
✅ Employment Contract copy (if available).
✅ Recent 3 months payslips.
✅ Company Registration / Business License of Employer (optional but strengthens application).
- Financial Evidence
✅ Personal bank statements (last 6 months) showing salary income and savings.
✅ Fixed deposit or investment certificates (if available).
✅ Proof of assets in Thailand (e.g., land title deeds, vehicle ownership, property documents – with English translation).
✅ Proof of joint assets with Thai spouse (if any, e.g. joint bank account, shared property).
- Family & Ties to Thailand
✅ Marriage and birth certificates (Thai and English translation certified).
✅ Photos as family proof (optional but helps demonstrate genuine relationship).
✅ Child’s school enrolment certificate in Thailand (if applicable).
✅ Spouse’s employment documents (if working in Thailand).
✅ Letter of Explanation / Cover Letter detailing the relationship, employment situation, and intent to return to Thailand after the trip.
- Travel Purpose & Plans
✅ Cover Letter (in English) explaining purpose of travel, dates, itinerary, funding, and ties to Thailand.
✅ Round-trip flight booking (not necessarily paid until visa approval).
✅ Hotel reservations for the whole stay.
✅ Detailed travel plan / itinerary (day-by-day outline of places to visit).
✅ Travel insurance covering entire duration (minimum NZD 50,000 coverage recommended).
- Additional Supporting Documents
✅ Proof of past travel (visa stamps to other countries – Schengen, UK, Japan, etc.).
✅ Letter of Invitation (from friend or relative in New Zealand, if applicable) with copy of their passport or residence visa.
✅ Employer’s leave approval letter.
✅ Translation certificates for any documents not in English (issued by authorized translator and certified by Thai MFA).
- Optional but Helpful
✅ Tax receipt or proof of income tax payment (PN D91, PN D90).
✅ Spouse’s consent letter if travelling alone.
✅ Proof of long-term residency in Thailand (e.g. previous visa stamps showing many years stay).
- Submission & Processing
Applications are submitted online via Immigration New Zealand website and biometrics given at VFS Global Bangkok.
Processing time: around 20–30 calendar days.
All supporting documents must be in English or officially translated.
